ON NOVEMBER 3rd the first office workers moved into One World Trade
Centre, a new skyscraper built on the site of the 2001 terrorist attacks
 in Manhattan.
The building height of 1,776 feet (541 metres)
symbolises the date of America's declaration of independence.
The
building has dethroned the Willis Tower in Chicago as North America's
tallest skyscraper.
The
world's tallest building is, for now, the Burj Khalifa in
Dubai.
For New Yorkers, of course, the height of One World Trade Centre
will matter far less than its message of resilience and renewal.
