New York is a city of superlatives,
a place that seems to have the biggest, brightest, boldest of just about
anything. So it's no wonder that when
InterContinental Hotels Group decided to build the tallest Holiday Inn in the
world, the company chose to do it in Manhattan's Financial District.
The new Holiday Inn Manhattan-Financial District, managed by Crescent Hotels and Resorts, opened late last month in a part of the city that is booming with development. Since 2003, the residential population in the city has jumped nearly 85%, and an estimated 6 million vistiors head to lower Manhattan each year.
Rooms have views of the Hudson River
and One World Trade Center. From one room on the 48th floor, you can
even catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty.
"We are excited about the role
this property is playing in the revitalization of Manhattan's historic
Financial District," says Heather Balsley, senior vice president for the
Americas of the Holiday Inn brands. "This beautiful hotel embodies our
commitment to provide our guests what they value most when they are travelling:
the contemporary design, modern amenities, and warm, welcoming service that
distinguishes the Holiday Inn brand."
